    <descript>
A BMAP (Basin Management Action Plan) is the "blueprint" for restoring impaired waters by reducing pollutant loadings to meet the allowable loadings established in a Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL). It represents a comprehensive set of strategies--permit limits on wastewater facilities, urban and agricultural best management practices, conservation programs, financial assistance and revenue generating activities, etc.--designed to implement the pollutant reductions established by the TMDL. These broad-based plans are developed with local stakeholders--they rely on local input and local commitment--and they are adopted by Secretarial Order to be enforceable. This is an update to the FGDL layer BMAP_AREA_APR13.shp
      <purpose>To spatially represent the areas undergoing BMAP implementation.</purpose>
      <supplinf>BMAP Standing/Status Values: BMAP Adopted / Adoption Pending: BMAP Adopted - The BMAP has been adopted by the Secretary and stakeholders have started implementing projects. Adoption Pending - We have stakeholder agreement on the BMAP and the BMAP is moving through the internal adoption process. Priority Areas with Basin Management Action Plan Activities in Progress: Areas where BMAPs are currently under development. Areas Undergoing Restoration Supporting TMDL Implementation (RA Plans and other non-BMAP TMDL implementation): These are local restoration strategies similar to BMAP strategies but were done without going through the BMAP process. Anticipated Basin Management Action Plans: BMAP development will be initiated w/ local stakeholders during this time period.</supplinf>

        <procdesc>Updated submitted for 04/12/2013: Caloosahatchee: Referenced WBID boundaries to fill in the river portion on 20130107 with Beth Alvi's approval. RH changed Status from Adoption Pending to Adopted after checking FDEP BMAP page. Everglades West Coast Basin (Formerly Hendry Creek and Imperial River respectively): Hendry Creek and Imperial River were split into separate boundaries on 20121024 at Anita Nash's request. Hendry Creek was updated, regrouped with Imperial as one boundary and Renamed Everglades West Coast Basin on 20130107 at Anita's request. RH changed Status from Adoption Pending to Adopted after checking FDEP BMAP page. Silver Springs and Silver River: Edited using Silver Springs springshed polygon from groundwater section on 20130103. This boundary could change in the future. Rainbow Springs and Rainbow River: Edited using Rainbow Springs springshed polygon from groundwater section on 20130103. This boundary could change in the future. Upper Wakulla River (Formerly Wakulla River, Munson Slough and Lake Munson): Combined WBID 1006 with Wakulla Springshed from groundwater section and changed name to Upper Wakulla River on 20130108 for Anita Nash. Lake Okeechobee RA Plan: Revised 20130111 using a shapefile obtained from Kim Jackson at request of Anita Nash. Coincides with Lake Okeechobee BMAP boundary. Revised again on 20130215 using shapefile from Kim. Lake Okeechobee BMAP: Created on 20130111 using a shapefile obtained from Kim Jackson at request of Anita Nash. Beth Alvi confirmed that she will be Basin Coordinator. Coincides with Lake Okeechobee RA Plan boundary. Revised again on 20130215 using shapefile from Kim. Wekiva: Revised the boundary to include the groundwater portion on 20130122. Initially notified of the error by the Eric Hicks in the Groundwater section. Shares space with Upper Ocklawaha. Lake Tohopekaliga: Acquired shapefile from Beth Alvi whose data source was Kimberly Lawrence from Osceola County Public Works on 20130111. St. Lucie: Updated on 20130110 at request of Anita Nash. Central Indian River Lagoon: Revised 20130110 for Anita. Gottfried Creek: Deleted on 20130122 at the request of Anita Nash. It was determined that Walk the WBIDs should be on a separate layer. Santa Fe: Re-edited on 20130129 for Terry Hansen at request of Anita Nash. Changed Status from Adoption Pending to Adopted for Anita. Tampa Bay (RA Plan): Revised 20130129 at request of Anita Nash. Used a shapefile obtained from Ed Sherwood from the Tampa Bay Estuary Program. Alafia River Basin: Revised for Anita Nash on 20130129 using Alafia River Planning Unit from Run 41. Suwannee BMAP boundary updated on 20130215 using new shapefile sent by Yesenia Escribano on 20130214. Shapefile was edited to match the edge of the edited Santa Fe BMAP boundary at request of Terry Hansen. Unnamed Branch deleted on 20130305 at Anita's request. Deleted lake Okeechobee "Areas undergoing Restoration Supporting TMDL Implementation" since the BMAP is now underway at Charles Gauthier's request on 20130306. Created Jackson Blue Spring on 20130306. Official BMAP yet to be determined. Composed of WBID180A and WBID180Z. Updated Wakulla Springs BMAP on 20130322 using information from Anita Nash. <eaover>BMAP Standing/Status Values:

BMAP Adopted / Adoption Pending:

BMAP Adopted - The BMAP has been adopted by the Secretary and
stakeholders have started implementing projects.

Adoption Pending - We have stakeholder agreement on the BMAP and the BMAP
 is moving through the internal adoption process.

Priority Areas with Basin Management Action Plan Activities in Progress: Areas
where BMAPs are currently under development.

Areas Undergoing Restoration Supporting TMDL Implementation (RA Plans and
other non-BMAP TMDL implementation):
These are local restoration strategies similar to BMAP strategies but were done
without going through the BMAP process.

Anticipated Basin Management Action Plans: BMAP development will be initiated
w/ local stakeholders during this time period.</eaover>

    <resdesc>DOWNLOADABLE DATA</resdesc>
    <distliab>The Florida Geographic Data Library is a collection of Geospatial Data compiled by the University of Florida GeoPlan Center with support from the Florida Department of Transportation. GIS data available in FGDL is collected from various state, federal, and other agencies (data sources) who are data stewards, producers, or publishers. The data available in FGDL may not be the most current version of the data offered by the data source. University of Florida GeoPlan Center makes no guarantees about the currentness of the data and suggests that data users check with the data source to see if more recent versions of the data exist. Furthermore, the GIS data available in the FGDL are provided 'as is'. The University of Florida GeoPlan Center makes no warranties, guaranties or representations as to the truth, accuracy or completeness of the data provided by the data sources. The University of Florida GeoPlan Center makes no representations or warranties about the quality or suitability of the materials, either expressly or implied, including but not limited to any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. The University of Florida GeoPlan Center shall not be liable for any damages suffered as a result of using, modifying, contributing or distributing the materials. A note about data scale: Scale is an important factor in data usage. Certain scale datasets are not suitable for some project, analysis, or modeling purposes. Please be sure you are using the best available data. 1:24000 scale datasets are recommended for projects that are at the county level. 1:24000 data should NOT be used for high accuracy base mapping such as property parcel boundaries. 1:100000 scale datasets are recommended for projects that are at the multi-county or regional level. 1:125000 scale datasets are recommended for projects that are at the regional or state level or larger. Vector datasets with no defined scale or accuracy should be considered suspect. Make sure you are familiar with your data before using it for projects or analysis. Every effort has been made to supply the user with data documentation. For additional information, see the References section and the Data Source Contact section of this documentation. For more information regarding scale and accuracy, see our webpage at: http://geoplan.ufl.edu/education.html</distliab>
