A note about data scale:

Scale is an important factor in data usage. Certain scale datasets
are not suitable for some project, analysis, or modeling purposes.
Please be sure you are using the best available data.

1:24000 scale datasets are recommended for projects that are at the
county level.
1:24000 data should NOT be used for high accuracy base mapping such
as property parcel boundaries.
1:100000 scale datasets are recommended for projects that are at the
multi-county or regional level.
1:125000 scale datasets are recommended for projects that are at the
regional or state level or larger.

Vector datasets with no defined scale or accuracy should be
considered suspect. Make sure you are familiar with your data
before using it for projects or analysis. Every effort has been
made to supply the user with data documentation. For additional
information, see the References section and the Data Source Contact
section of this documentation. For more information regarding
scale and accuracy, see our webpage at:

The digits signify a hydrologic hierarchy: - the first two digits denote the primary tributary basin - the second two digits denote the secondary tributary basin - the third two digits denote the tertiary tributary basin - the fourth two digits denote the quaternary tributary basin - For example, in HUC 03080101 any basin with an EXTHUC starting with 15------ is part of the same drainage basin (Jane Green Creek). - If a basin's EXTHUC contains 99 (99------, --99----, ----99--, or ------99), this indicates that other basins flow into it. This is important for determining the total area of any drainage basin. For example, in HUC 03080101, the EXTHUC for Tyson Creek is 15509900. This means that other basins flow into it, and to determine the total drainage area for Tyson Creek you must also include the drainage area for all EXTHUCs within HUC 03080101 starting with 1550 (15505000, 15505500, 15505700, and 15506000). None of these tributary basins have a 99 in the EXTHUC, and therefore, none have any additional basins flowing into them. - EXTHUC = 99000000 is used for the main waterbodies that each HUC is based on, i.e. the main stem of the St. Johns River, Ocklawaha River, Indian River Lagoon, etc.. These mainstem basins are more uniquely described by the planning unit codes (pu and pu-id) or pk_basin.</attrdef><attrdefs>Florida Department of Environmental Protection</attrdefs></attr><attr><attrlabl Sync="TRUE">BASIN</attrlabl><attalias Sync="TRUE">BASIN</attalias><attrtype Sync="TRUE">String</attrtype><attwidth Sync="TRUE">23</attwidth><attrdef>USGS basin name.</attrdef><attrdefs>Florida Department of Environmental Protection</attrdefs></attr><attr><attrlabl Sync="TRUE">FEATURE</attrlabl><attalias Sync="TRUE">FEATURE</attalias><attrtype Sync="TRUE">String</attrtype><attwidth Sync="TRUE">7</attwidth><attrdef>Type of waterbody - The names of FEATUREs is a descriptor that attempts to segregate drainage areas into classes.
