This dataset contains parcels approaching the 50 year historical review process in Florida. Parcels were dissolved by the actual year built for each respective parcel polygon in 5 year increments for the years ranging from 1965-1974. Actual Year Built for each parcel polygon represents the original year that the structure / building on the property was built. Effective Year Built represents the last date which the structure / building was updated / renovated, etc.

<procdesc>GeoPlan used the available 2015 parcel tax data records gathered from the State Department of Revenue (DOR) and County Property Appraisers by Panda Consulting to create the Parcels Dissolved By Decade Of Actual Year Built shapefile. [Original Statewide Parcel Layer: Statewide_2015V2_20150918.gdb] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- GeoPlan updated the tabular data for some records that had no original tabular data. GeoPlan used the available 2015 NAL table from the following FDOR website. Missing tabular data was appended via a table join using the Parcel ID field. Tax Roll Data Files ftp://sdrftp03.dor.state.fl.us/Tax%20Roll%20Data%20Files/ 2015 Final NAL - SDF DBF Files ftp://sdrftp03.dor.state.fl.us/Tax%20Roll%20Data%20Files/2015%20Final%20NAL%20-%20SDF%20DBF%20Files/ The following counties were updated using this method: Broward County NAL16F20.zip (62.8 MB 10/30/15, 9:36:00 AM) 45,957 records updated Collier County NAL21F20.zip (23.6 MB 10/9/15, 5:40:00 PM) 31,154 records updated ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Process for dissolving parcel polygons based on 5 year increments of actual year built: - For each county a new field representing Actual Year Built [AYRBLT] was populated based on the attribute table information for the following fields; ACTYRBLT and AYRB. - First [AYRBLT] was set equal to ACTYRBLT, - Next a selection set was created where [AYRBLT] = 0, these selected features were set equal to AYRB. - Also checked for data in the Effective Year Built field where ACTYRBLT = 0. - Next a subset was created by selecting parcels where: ACTYRBLT > 1964 AND ACTYRBLT < 1975 - Next a YB_5YR field was added (String 30) - Next a field calculation for [YB_5YR] = "1965 - 1969" was performed for the following selection ACTYRBLT > 1964 AND ACTYRBLT > 1970 - Next a field calculation for [YB_5YR] = "1970 - 1974" was performed for the following selection ACTYRBLT > 1969 AND ACTYRBLT > 1975 - The parcel polygon boundaries were then Dissolved (as single part features) based on the Actual Year Built [YB_5YR] field. - The Dissolved layers were then run through the Repair Geometry Command 3x. - The Dissolved layers were then run through the Integrate Command at a tolerance of 1m. - The Dissolved layers were then run through the Repair Geometry Command 3x. - Next the Simplify Polygon GeoProcessing Function was used with the Point Remove Algorithm to remove redundant points, such as over-digitized vertices found throughout the layer, this function was also used to compress the file size of the layer via a relatively low degree of simplification. Then during this simplification process a tolerance equal to 1-meter was set in order to allow for a maximum offset of 1m from the original source data. Because the original file size of the layer prohibited the use of the 'Resolve Errors' option, a 'No Check' option was used during the process; because of this the algorithm may have introduced small topological errors to the simplified results. - The Dissolved layers were then run through the Repair Geometry Command 3x. - Next the Dissolved Layers were then run through the Integrated Command at 1m. - The Dissolved layers were then run through the Repair Geometry Command 3x. - A spatial Join was then run with the Dissolved Layers and they corresponding Full County Parcel Label Points (which where dissolved on PARCELID) in order to get Parcel Count for each dissolved feature. - The shapefiles were then merged together statewide. - The final shapefile represents polygons of parcels which structures/ buildings were originally built in the same 5 year increment. - Several other fields were added to the attribute table: [DESCRIPT] - Based on [YB_5YR] [FGDLAQDATE] - The date FGDL acquired the original data from the Source.</procdesc>
