      <procstep>
        <procdesc>The transit stops data were compiled by the Lehman Center for Transportation Research at Florida International University. Most of the county's data were collected from transit agencies. For transit agencies that had not developed GIS maps of the stops, the Lehman Center digitzed those stops using USGS 1:100,000 Tiger Roads as a backdrop. The GeoPlan Center otained this data in shapefile format from the FDOT in 2002. Original datasets consisted of 22 county shapefiles; Alachua, Bay, Brevard, Broward, Dade, Duval, Escambia, Hillsborough, Indian River, Lee, Leon, Manatee, Monroe, Orange,Osceola, Palm Beach, Pasco, Pinellas, Polk, Sarasota, Seminole and Volusia. The 22 county shapefiles were merged together to create this dataset. The original shapefiles for Orange, Osceola, Volusia and Seminole contained features for areas outside of each county, hence each shapefile was clipped to the respective county boundary.</procdesc>
