This current model called "Florida Landscape Assessment Model (FLAM)" replaces the Integrated Wildlife Habitat Ranking System (IWHRS 2009).</idPurp><idAbs>&lt;DIV STYLE="text-align:Left;"&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;&lt;DIV&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;The FLAM layer was developed from 15 spatial variables. The variables were created from various sources including FWC, FNAI, and LCC. In general, the variables are based on species habitat, managed areas, disturbed areas, natural area connectivity, and aquatic resources. Each variable was assigned a weight to determine its influence on the final model. After weighting, the variables were summed and a categorized into 10 classes using a quantile classification method. A transportation (e.g. paved roads) variable (value = 0) was burned on top of the summed layer so the final model had 11 classes ranging from 0-10 where 0 = worst and 10 = best landscape quality.
