Excellent Deductive estimate. Since the attributes were created by a reliable software (XTools 2.2), it can be assumed that they are correct. The shapefile was exported to an ArcInfo coverage. The coverage was checked using ArcEdit (ArcInfo 8.2). The coverage was checked for dangles, and they were removed if discovered. The lines also had all splits removed. The coverage was then built and exported back to a shapefile. The topology was checked completely. There were no user-defined attributes for this shapefile. The attributes created by ArcInfo were deleted. XTools 2.2 was used to create and update the attributes "AREA" and "ACRES". Horizontal accuracy is within the national map accuracy standards for 1:24,000 GIS data. 90% of identifiable points are within 1/50th of an inch (40 feet).
