During the QA/QC process, the following tasks were undertaken:
- Exported Excel sheet to a table in a File Geodatabase.
- Uppercased field names and replaced each space with an underscore.
- Downloaded city limits (https://fgdl.org/zips/metadata/xml/par_citylm_2021.xml) and county boundaries (https://fgdl.org/zips/metadata/htm/cntbnd_sep15.htm).
- Ensured that city limits and county boundaries have the same coordinate system. For county boundaries, converted coordinate system from Albers Conical Equal Area [Florida Geographic Data Library] to NAD_1983_HARN_Florida_GDL_Albers.
- Using ArcPy, removed trailing spaces and uppercased values of "CLG_NAME" field to ensure a clean match with boundaries.
- Joined table with city limits and county boundaries based on CLG_NAME field (ensuring that all names matched), then merged the two files. Note: matched the CLG that is named 'TALLAHASSEE/LEON COUNTY' with the Leon County boundary.
- Added "COUNTY" field that states the name of the county each CLG is located in.
- Uppercased all records in the table, except emails and URLs.
- Added DESCRIPT field based on CLG_NAME.
- Added FGDLAQDATE field based on date downloaded from source.
- Reduced field lengths to their longest record.
- Renamed field CONTACT_PERSON to CONTACT for consistency with previous FGDL layer.
