All modes are updated separately and data are retrieved from the individual websites associated with those modes. Latitude and longitude are pulled manually or extracted as a complete file from the website and connectivity to each facility is added manually. The air and intercity rail data are retrieved from preexisting NTAD data. All data points are within a single block of accuracy.Spatial and Attribute InformationThe GeoPlan Center took the following steps during the QA/QC process:
- Downloaded the dataset from BTS on 4/04/2023 using this link: https://geodata.bts.gov/datasets/usdot::intermodal-passenger-connectivity-database-ipcd (in shapefile format and WGS 1984 geographic coordinate system).
- Features in Florida were isolated via a Select By Attribute with features with the STATE field equal to FL being selected.
- Dataset projected into the FGDL Albers HPGN projection using WGS_1984_(ITRF00)_To_NAD_1983 + NAD_1983_To_HARN_Florida.
- ADDED MGRS, LAT_DD, LONG_DD, AND GOOGLEMAP FIELDS
- DESCRIPT field added based on the FAC_NAME field. Any records with no data in the FAC_ID field had their DESCRIPT field calculated as 'NO DESCRIPT AVAILABLE'.
- FGDLAQDATE field added based on the date the dataset was downloaded from source.
- The longest record for each field was found and field character lengths were shortened to the appropriate shortest length possible.
- Removed the OBJECTID field.
- Uppercased appropriate records in the dataset.
- Layer name changed from Intermodal_Passenger_Connectivity_ Database_IPCD.shp to BTS_IPCD_2022.shp.
