The GeoPlan Center downloaded the Amtrak Stations dataset on February 27th, 2023 from the U.S. DOT BTS Data Portal: https://geodata.bts.gov/
Bureau of Transportation Statistics Geospatial Open Data: https://geodata.bts.gov/datasets/amtrak-stations
Amtrak_Stations.zip
During the QA/QC process the following tasks were undertaken:
- Downloaded Amtrak_Stations feature class as a shapefile
- Isolated records to only include those in the state of Florida
- Projected the dataset from WGS1984 to NAD 1983 HARN FGDL Albers.
- Uppercased all records and fields in the table.
- A DESCRIPT field was added based on CITY field.
- A FGDLAQDATE field was added based on date downloaded from source.
- A LAT_DD & LONG_DD field were added for latitude and longitude coordinates respectively.
- Renamed file from Amtrak_Stations to AMTRAK_2023.
