Upcoming Change to YouTube Video Playback in Canvas
YouTube is making changes that will affect how videos display in Canvas courses. Starting October 31, 2025, YouTube videos embedded directly in Canvas may begin showing ads. This is part of YouTube’s updated player policies and applies to all standard YouTube embeds.

Please note that any ads displayed on embedded YouTube videos are not provided, reviewed, or approved by the University of Florida or Instructure. They are served directly by YouTube and may vary based on viewer location and account settings.
